Nice and the Baie des Anges

Nice is the capital of the Alpes-Maritimes department on the Côte d'Azur. It is located on the pebble coast of the Baie des Anges. Founded by the Greeks and then prized by the European elite in the 19th century, the city has attracted the attention of artists for a long time. The Henri Matisse museum is dedicated to the artistic career of the painter from Nice. The Marc Chagall Museum houses some of the greatest religious works of the artist to whom it owes its name.
